橇装式空压站

概述

A skid is the middle answer between a loose machine and a container. Compressor, dryer, filtration, receiver and panel are mounted and piped on a single structural frame, which is then lifted into an existing building and bolted to the floor.

It exists because site installation is where cost and delay come from. Interconnecting pipework designed in an office, fabricated on site and pressure tested in situ takes weeks. The same pipework built on a skid in a workshop takes days and is tested before it ships.

主要优势

One lift, one bolt down

The station arrives assembled. Site work is the incoming supply and the outgoing air line.

Tested as a system

Pressure tested and function tested at the factory rather than commissioned for the first time on your floor.

Fits an existing building

Where a container will not fit through the door, a skid will.

Relocatable

Bolted down rather than built in. When the layout changes the station moves with it.

When a skid is the right answer

When you have a building but no plant room, and site labour is expensive or slow. That describes most industrial projects in the region and it is why this is a larger part of our business than it used to be.

It is also the right answer where the installation has to be certified. A skid built and tested in a workshop produces a set of documents that a site installation struggles to match, and inspection is straightforward because everything is visible.

It is the wrong answer where the space is awkward or the machine sizes are very different. A skid is one rigid object, and a room with a pillar in the middle of it sometimes wants loose equipment.

常见问题

How is it different from a container?

A container brings its own building. A skid goes inside yours. If you have a suitable building, a skid is cheaper; if you do not, a container is.

Can I specify the layout?

Yes. The skid is built to a general arrangement drawing that you approve before fabrication starts, including where the connections come out.

Does it need a foundation?

A level floor and holding down bolts. The skid distributes the load, so a separate foundation is rarely needed.

Will it fit through my door?

That is settled at the drawing stage. Where the opening is tight the skid is built in sections that bolt together inside, which a container cannot do.

What is included on the skid?

Compressor, dryer, filtration, receiver, drains, the electrical panel and the interconnecting pipework, all piped and wired and tested.

Is it tested before dispatch?

Yes, pressure tested and function tested in the workshop. That is most of the reason it exists: site commissioning is where cost and delay come from.

Can it be relocated?

Yes, it is bolted down rather than built in. When the plant layout changes the station moves with it instead of being rebuilt.

Is it better for an inspected installation?

Usually. A skid built and tested in a workshop produces a document set a site installation struggles to match, and everything is visible for inspection.

When is a skid the wrong answer?

Where the space is awkward or the machine sizes are very different. A skid is one rigid object, and a room with a pillar in the middle sometimes wants loose equipment.

How is it lifted?

Lifting lugs on the frame, rated and certified. The lifting plan and the weight are on the general arrangement drawing before it ships.
