Vacuum pump service contracts

Planned maintenance at a fixed annual cost.

Vacuum pump service contracts

Overview

An unplanned vacuum failure stops a process line. A planned service takes two hours during a shutdown. The difference in cost is usually two orders of magnitude, and yet planned maintenance is what gets deferred when budgets are tight.

A service contract fixes the annual cost, schedules the visits around your shutdowns and puts the responsibility for remembering on us instead of on your maintenance planner.

Key benefits

Fixed annual cost

Budgeted once. No surprise invoices for parts and labour.

Scheduled around you

Visits planned against your shutdown calendar, not ours.

Priority breakdown response

Contract customers are attended first, with agreed response times.

Full history maintained

Every visit documented, which matters at audit time in regulated industries.

Why a contract on a vacuum pump

Because a vacuum pump rarely fails without warning. A contract catches the warning and a breakdown call catches the consequence, and those cost very different amounts.

Ultimate pressure drifting, longer pump down times and rising temperature are all measurable and all appear well before a stoppage.

A contract is therefore mostly about measuring at intervals rather than about parts. The parts are the cheap half.

  • Warning signs caught before a stoppage
  • Ultimate pressure measured at every visit
  • Pump down time trended
  • Temperature and power recorded
  • Consumables to schedule
  • Priority response included
  • Lower labour rate on repairs
  • Fixed price for the term

What is included

Scheduled visits with consumables, measurements and a written report, plus priority response and a lower labour rate when something does go wrong.

Intervals are set by your process rather than by a general rule, and they are reviewed annually against what the record actually shows.

Where a pump is critical we hold an exchange unit against your site so a failure is a same day swap.

  • Scheduled visits with consumables
  • Measurements and written report every visit
  • Intervals set by your process
  • Reviewed annually against the record
  • Exchange unit held for critical duty
  • Priority response
  • Out of hours cover available
  • Multi pump and multi site pricing

What it costs

Fixed for the term and stated per pump, so a budget can be built from it rather than estimated.

Consumable price rises inside the term are ours to absorb. That is what fixed means.

Where a contract does not make sense on a pump we will say so. A spare pump standing beside a cheap one is sometimes the better answer.

  • Fixed price for the term, per pump
  • Consumable price rises absorbed by us
  • Honest advice where it is not worth it
  • Reviewed at renewal against usage
  • Multi pump and multi site pricing
  • Transferable if a pump moves
  • Cancellable at renewal without penalty
  • Quoted in advance, in writing

Frequently asked questions

What does a vacuum service contract cover?

Scheduled visits, parts and labour to an agreed scope, priority response, and a record of every reading taken on every pump.

Why take one rather than call when it breaks?

Because a vacuum pump rarely fails without warning. A contract catches the warning. A breakdown call catches the consequence.

Is it cheaper than paying per visit?

Usually, and it is far more predictable. You also get priority attendance, which on a production-critical pump is worth more than the discount.

Can we cover pumps from several brands?

Yes, and most of our contracts do. One schedule, one contact and one set of records across the whole plant.

What are the levels of cover?

From scheduled inspection only, up to full cover including parts, labour and breakdown attendance. We price each so you can choose deliberately.

Does it include emergency call-out?

On the fuller levels, yes, with a defined response time. It is written into the contract rather than left as a good intention.

What if a pump fails inside the contract?

We attend within the agreed response time and repair or replace to the agreed scope. Where downtime matters, an exchange unit can be part of the deal.

Can we include a standby pump?

Yes, either held at our stores for you or on your site. On a critical process that clause is usually the most valuable part of the contract.

How is it priced?

By pump count, duty and cover level, fixed for the year. You get a single figure to budget rather than a series of surprises.

Can we cancel?

Yes, with notice. We would rather earn the renewal than hold anyone to a contract they are unhappy with.
